Quartz Hill, CA Target Delayed One More Year

Target, Rite Aid and several other new stores that are slated to be built at a new shopping Mega-Center in Quartz Hill won't start construction for at least another full year.

Citing the poor economy, Lancaster City Council voted 6-0 to grant a 1-year extension to the developers and land owners who have plans to build a 395,355 Square Foot commercial shopping Mega-Center on the SE corner of W. Ave L & 60th Street. The commission's action extends the conditional use permit to September 11, 2012.

"We're just kind of riding with the economy and hoping things improve" said George Lane a managing partner in the Lane Family Trust which owns the 40-plus acres of farmland the commercial center is to be built upon. Stay tuned as this story evolves.
